Quantification of human cytomegalovirus in wastewater: Overcoming inhibition with the Nio®+ system

Highlights:
- The Nio®+ system with Ruby Chip and naica® multiplex PCR MIX 10X showed high resilience to inhibitors from wastewater, even with very high sample input (80 %)
- The sensitivity of the Nio+ system was greater than platforms with more than twice the reaction volume (QIAcuity with 8.5k nanoplates)
- The quantification of samples showed good comparability with assigned values, with a bias < 9 %
